⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Very good flashlight
Reviewed in the United States on November 27, 2016 by Barry Robinson

"I don't know what it is with flashlights today. They're tactical, metal, have multi-select switches, S.O.S. modes, strobe modes are super bright or not so bright and the batteries don't last that long. Okay, sure, I have my selection of these lights to play with and use but they are battery-eaters or require recharging. They're not that dependable for length of use or storage. Sure, I can illuminate something a quarter mile away or light up a room like it's sunrise but how often do I need to do that? I find that metal housed lights have a tendency to cause the batteries to leak (ahem...Mag Light) so I spend $30-$40 bucks on a light that I can't keep the batteries in while it's in the car. Or you go to look for something and have to hit the tail switch several times to cycle through all the modes so you can just get a basic light. I shouldn't have to teach anyone how to work a flashlight and I shouldn't have to worry about the light in my wife's vehicle going bad or dead. Or, if you go get a simple cheapie to keep tossed in a drawer, it's still 1980's tech and you can't see 5' in front of you. So I got these. Simplistic white LED, a basic on/off switch where it should be, rugged enough to toss in a glove box and the with low-drain LED bulbs, no worry of dead batteries after 30 minutes. They are also inexpensive without being cheap. These are great for walking around the house at night. I can easily see the second story of my house, my AC units or whatever else I need to look at. I hand it to my Grandkids and they instantly know how to use it. It's either on or it's off. Simple. It's a cone-spot pattern so if focuses the light on your project when your checking your breakers or widens out to about a 6' diameter from across two rooms in the house. Outside you probably get about 25' of usable light before the pattern widens out too much. This makes it great for changing a tire at night or walking though those anti light-pollution fixtures that resorts use these days. This light is not for you if you need to carry the sun in the palm of your hand or want a self-protection device but if your just need simple, long-lasting usable light for everyday tasks, get it."

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ REALLY waterproof...survived the washing machine!!
Reviewed in the United States on April 6, 2016 by Minnow303

"I bought these for my kids to use camping and at night reading after lights out at home. We've had them for a few months and the flashlights work great! Easy for little fingers to use and night and bright. The kids love the clip on the end so they can hang the flashlight from their bunkbed. The flashlight really got tested the other night when my oldest had the stomach flu. I grabbed all the linens and threw them in the washing machine...along with the flashlight. OOPS!! I didn't realize it was in her bedding, but found it after the wash cycle had completed. It still works!!! For the price and the quality, I don't think you can get a better flashlight."

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Would not use for sea night dives, but for the price a good basic flashlight.

"I just noticed this has over 3k reviews already, but I already wrote it. I wanted a small dependable LED flashlight for use around the house and yard. Didn't need anything fancy or super powerful, and didn't want to pay much. My only requirements: a thumbswitch instead of the rear off/on that's so common, and at least partially rubber-covered. That narrows down the field of choices, but this one seemed to fit the bill. It's not the most powerful but after 6 months it's still on the set of batteries it came with. The beam is fine for my usage, several times per week but for short periods, like checking a sprinkler, a closet, walking to the mailbox, etc. I haven't given it a waterproof test because that term is thrown around too easily. I used to scuba dive and these are not the kind we used. I will say it's definitely *resistant*, and the Kelvin temperature is on the cool side. I like the size, and the thought in design. The non-slip rubber around the lens prevents rolling around and a cushioned base for standing up. A bit chubbier than the typical 3AA battery size but light in weight, with rubberized hand grip as well. For the price you can never have enough rubber or LED flashlights. Bonus feature that I like: carabineer clip on the end. It's always hanging up where I'll find it."

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great flashlight for kids
Reviewed in the United States on October 16, 2019 by Dominic T. Sedillo

"I honestly got this because my kid always wants to play with my pen-light, but it's a bit delicate for her. This is a nice flashlight that is heavy-duty for some semi-rough play* (*it can stand up to being dropped or banged against a wall). It's pink, so it's automatically girly (right?!) and if she does end up breaking it then it is a fair price to replace easily. So far so good!"

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great LED Flashlight
Reviewed in the United States on March 11, 2017 by Janet

"We have four of these LED lights in different rooms of our home. Ordered them a few years ago and they are still going strong on the batteries that came with the flashlight. I ordered two more to put in two rooms upstairs, because they are such reliable lights, so bright too. We have a lot of power outages, so I like to have these LED flashlights close at hand in some of our rooms. We used to get regular flashlights, only used them once in awhile. When we'd need them, they would be so dim we could hardly see. I'm so thankful I found these Dorcy LED flashlights. They never fail us when we need them, I use them around the house a lot, not only for power outage, but so many other things. If I drop something on the floor and can't find it, my Dorcy light is there to help me find it. I can't say enough good things about this flashlight."

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ AA batteries (charge lasts longer), cheap, not tiny, easy to find in low light. Great for around the house use.
Reviewed in the United States on March 31, 2016 by t

"I really like that these are AA instead of AAA. You can easily find AA rechargeables that are 2300mAh, which is 3+ times the capacity of AAAs. Since these flashlights are not super eye-piercingly bright (55 lumens I think), the batteries will last a lot longer than with the super bright AAA flashlights. We got these for my elderly mother to use around the house. They are big, colorful, and made of light plastic. If you have any kind of outdoor use in mind, these are probably the opposite of the attributes you're looking for. But these are great for having around the house where they are easier to find in the dark (as opposed to tiny AAA black aluminum flashlights which she was constantly losing). They would also be great for kids to use, I guess. I wouldn't expect them to take much abuse, but they are also only a few dollars and seem pretty sturdy. We got 1, and liked it enough to get 3 more (the different colors are slightly different prices, but seem identical otherwise)."

Best Floating LED Flashlight

If you are looking for a LED flashlight that floats we think the very popular Dorcy 41-2524 is the best pick. However, you might want to look for another LED flashlight if the following three strike your fancy: If you need a dive flashlight, a light with a beam that can be focused, or want to know how bright your flashlight is before you buy it, this is the one! You won't believe it until you see it with your own eyes exactly how far your light will shine before fading, but trust us when we say this is an impressive sight. I have no idea if it really floats, but it seems light enough to do so. Love our new flashlights. I love them because they lead off with a bang so we can't keep them the same size and/or the same color. We put them in our fishing bags, hang them around the house, etc. They are durable and bright. I purchased a couple of these flashlights to take camping. They are bright and feel durable.

If you drop the Dorcy LED flashlight in the lake it will just float on the surface, no trouble. This was tested and shown to be water proof. I'm sure there are many other reviews that list this feature but I left them alone for the most part. Most reviews ignore this feature. I don't. Please let me know if I can improve the review. Lucky for me! A good price and exactly what I was looking for. I bought two of these flashlights to replace my old incandescent ones in my home emergency kit. They are bright and flow a bright white light. Perfect. Bought this flash light for the hurricane & now I'm using on it almost nightly; very light & including batteries. Disappointed that it wasn't delivered by the time promised when ordered. However, I'm happy with the product. Lightweight, durable, and very bright; it's great to have in the house while doing yard work or around the house.

Rugged and Waterproof Floating Flashlight

The Dorcy 41-2524 has a rugged design and a generous beam. It is very bright and better than many other flashlights of its size. It is less expensive than the CXR-4 and CXR-6 lights and more economical than the similarly-priced LED flashlights. It is sold by Amazon as part of a kit containing the lens, batteries, and a 3-AA battery holder. A more advanced, and somewhat bizarre, alternative is the 41-4750, which combines elements from the above and other lights and is sold by Amazon as a stand-alone light. Why, you might be asking, is there any difference between the two lights? Well, it all comes down to how you configure your LED. The 41-2524 is more flexible and allows you to wire different wires to make cables or to attach different bulbs. The 4750 is more rigid and has a single strong wire that runs from the battery socket to the top of the light.

You do not have to worry water will get into the battery compartment if you drop the flashlight in the water. I let the kids use the bathroom and a pump worked just fine. I tested it with no water in it and it continued to work even after the kids pulled it out and left it in the water. Simple. The flashlite output is amazingly bright. I put this on my Texas Instruments 7090 digital multistate multimeter. It was difficult to obtain acceptable reading water levels because the flashlight was so powerful. I recommend this product to any other flashlight enthusiasts. For the price this is a great flashlight. It is really bright and seems pretty durable. I haven't tested the waterproof feature but I don't doubt it. I have one in my car and in the kitchen and the light is very bright. I love that it is so inexpensive. I really like this LED flashlight. It's smaller than many flashlights I've had but it is bright and feels durable. I like the rubber grip and the built in clip.

Easy to Carry Floating LED Flashlight

The Dorcy LED flashlight is also easy to carry thanks to the clip at the bottom. This clip, when tightened, allows the flashlight to be held on to anywhere, anytime. This is an excellent feature for any power user, farmer, hunter, fisherman, or fisherman just trying to get by with just an average flashlight. This grade is the best. It is bigger than the others and has a very bright light. It also runs on 3 AA batteries. The light is crystal clear and bright. I have used this flashlight on many camp outs and I have never had to replace the batteries. I have one in my car and in my bedroom and it is brighter than the sun. This also includes the CREE flashlights. I purchased this flashlight to be used as an addition to my toolset for general repair and cleanup. I figured it looked like a durable, long-lasting flashlight. I still haven't checked the longevity of the batteries, but I'm pretty sure they're not as heavy and flexible as some of the other flashlights I've had.

We think you get good value for your money with Dorcy 41-2524 lights. They are a nice compact size, have defined spotlights, a carabineer clip and a belt clip which makes them extremely handy. We hang them our attic ceiling fan and their rubberized grips and bottoms are perfect for putting your shoes (or any) on. The light is bright and steady and we have not had to replace any batteries yet. We think you will be very satisfied with these two flashlights. We bought two of these flashlights to take to camp. One of these is a really bright flashlight and the other is surprisingly lightweight. We are not sure of the water-proof feature until we try it ourselves. Best all around great flashlight. Well made, very bright, and not too heavy. Love the purple color. I never got the chance to test the waterproof feature on these, but did use them on our camping trip. For $7, these were a great get.
