"A great spotlight that sends a beam out as far as the eye can see. I point it at the side of our house from 100 yards away and it lights up the entire side of the house. I use the Stanley mostly as a spotlight when I take out the 2 small Maltipoos at night. Definitely bright enough to spot the Owls at 100 yards away in the tree. Here's a picture of an owl spotted at 30 yards away."
"I shopped for what seemed like forever to find the perfect all season and versatile spotlight, the Stanley SL10LEDS did not disappoint. I live in a rural area where seeing across a field 250 yards into the treeline is important. While being able to use at a long distance was very important, as important was the ability to maneuver a seamlessly light in weight for easy one handed operation. This one did it all. I could not be happier. It even came with a detachable red lens. The body of this light is made of a hard durable ABS plastic, the fold out clip on top for use as a prop id made of metal (can even be used as a weapon if you find the need), The two brightness levels are controlled by the trigger. Pull the trigger once for bright, pull again to dim, and again to turn off. as for the battery, It seems great also. I have not charged it since the initial charge and have probably used it for a total of 3-4 hours in the past couple weeks off and on, and it is still as bright as the first time I turned it on. Again, I am glad I got this one from the several I was evaluating. It definitely does not disappoint."
"My ageing mother routinely battles critters who are trying to eat her chickens. After her former light went to be with the Good Lord, I bought this to get her back in action. So far being armed with this light and a .22lr, she has suffered the loss of no chickens, however she is still mourning the loss of one wheelburrow tire and a water bucket."
"The beam has quite a bit of "general" light in a wide cone, then a brighter area around the REALLY bright central beam. That seems like wasted light, but it does help provide context for the thing you're pointing at. You might find this spotlight too big or heavy, but I wanted it to look down side roads and into campsites when I'm looking for a place to crash in a national forest after dark, and it really does that job well! Other reviewers have questioned the run time. I ran it 65 minutes on high and it never dimmed. It has a current regulator, unlike most, so the light is constant until it's almost dead. It also has a smart switch, which goes from off to bright to dim to off if you keep pulling the trigger... but if you leave it on a few seconds, pulling the trigger turns it off instead of going to dim before off as other so do. It does NOT have a flashing mode or a SOS mode. Here's the geeky part: I charged it after 1 hour of use, and found it drew exactly 600mA (from several different supplies, including the supplied one and a 2.1A cell phone charger) for a very long time. If you need quick charge, this isn't for you. The charge status light switched from red to green (flashing) at about 3Ah, and at 3.5Ah the charge current started to decrease (down to 250mA at 3.7Ah). Note that the battery is not 5V, so USB charging amp-hours are smaller than lithium battery amp-hours with the voltage step-down. If it really is a 10W light as Stanley says, 1 hour of use should require 10 watt-hours of charging (which would be 2 amp-hours at 5V). The roughly 4 amp-hours which I pushed into it is typical of lithium batteries, which require twice as much charge current as they deliver when being discharged. I believe them. The heat sink on top runs SLIGHTLY warm, but not hot enough to hurt or burn. PS: I tried a smaller one (XM-L2 CREE) before I settled on this one. If this seems too big, check the smaller one out... It had a zoom lens that I really liked, but it flaked out on me and this one reaches roughly twice as far away because the beam is tighter and the reflector is bigger. "Bought this to check our chicken coop at the back of our property. Used to buy spotlights based on candle power & I knew nothing about lumens. Was worried this light wouldn't give me the distance & brightness of the beam. Took a chance & bought it & received it today. After charging it for an hour or so as per instructions I waited for it to get dark out to see what the light has. Its a foggy night in Tennessee & fog is so thick visibility is almost nothing. To my surprise this light cut right through the fog & is INSANLEY BRIGHT. I had no problem lighting up the whole coop/pen area & the woods beyond. I stepped out on the deck & pointed it towards a clear cut powerline & saw glowing deer eyes for a mile. This light is a keeper & more than enough for what I needed in a light. Which is once a week the dogs bark at the door & we check the chickens by walking back there with a flashlight. Sometimes late sometimes in the rain. Not anymore. Can now more than light up the area from the window or back door & take care of buisness without leaving the deck should there be an intruder or problem. This light has one heck of a bright beam, again insanely bright. Not sure what the lumens/candle power conversion is but in the past I had 2,000,000 candle power spot lights & this light is far brighter & throws a more narrow beam so it will carry brighter light farther. I guess technology makes everything better including spot lights. It is half the size of the old maxmillion type spot lights. It feels sturdy & durable & I wouldnt be afraid if I dropped it or got it wet on the rain. Being I just got this today I will update this review if I have a problem in the future with battery life / durability."
"The Stanley FatMax SL10LEDS is a versatile and effective tool and safety device. It has fulfilled my needs and has been extremely useful in a variety of situations. It’s quality, brightness, and functionality make it useful for everyone. Brightness: The light itself is extremely bright and works at long ranges. I have used this light for a couple of years and it has shined as far as I have ever needed it to. The spotlight has 2 brightness settings that can be chosen by pulling the trigger either once or twice. The brightest setting works for spotting things at long distances. In my experience, it can spot animals from over 150 yards. In my large backyard, this spotlight works to light up anything wandering around at night. The lower brightness still works as a spotlight but saves battery and also works as a flashlight. Battery: The battery life on this spotlight is very impressive. The light comes with AC and DC adapters for your home and car, as well as a red SOS lens. It takes several hours to charge to full battery but in my experience it will outlast the 7 hour claimed run time. The light will hold for months when not in use. It has a small LED that changes between green and red indicating battery life and charging status. Quality: The Stanley FatMax SL10LEDS is built tough and takes a beating well. It will survive drops and abuse without an issue. The case is rugged plastic and the lens is protected by a rubber seal. The light is not waterproof, however; I had to replace mine after dropping it in a creek. I have used it in the rain without any issues however. Uses: There are many reasons to own a handheld spotlight. It is tremendously useful for people who spend a lot of time outdoors. As a fisherman, this light helps me navigate lakes and river late at night. I use the light to spot trees, stumps and other hazards in the water. It helps locate boat docks and landings as well. This light also provides security. Using it will allow you to spot anything in your yard. It would be beneficial to have for any type of emergency situation. Owning a spotlight is something everyone should consider. The Stanley FatMax SL10LEDS is versatile, durable, and effective. It is a must-have for me and could be for you as well."
The Stanley FATMAX SL10LEDS spotlight is one of the best and safest options for outdoor activities. It is light weight and easy to use. Stanley has done a great job on this one. The light has a much better beam of light than I could have expected out of a $40 light. Also the charge lasts a long time. As an added bonus for me, this light uses just ONE LED and has a built in stand that allows me to tilt it 90 degrees. Comes with dc to wall charger and red lens, I will be ordering another one to keep in my boat. This light is unreal! I can clearly illuminate anything that's 100 yards or more in front of me. Even through the thick card board fence that is about 5-6 feet in front of my house, this light shines clear back to the fence row. It has a kickstand on top that actually helps me prop up when I'm doing it, so that I can always see ahead. This thing can throw a beam for a long distance. It is light weight and easy to use.
The portability and sturdy design makes the FATMAX a solid choice for hunting and fishing. It is not intended for lengthy periods of time like some fluorescent light, but the FATMAX does very well for just letting you know when it is time to plug in the outlet. This is a great spotlight. Simple and effective. Bought this to use on my boat when coming in from fishing at night. I like that it has a low and high mode if you hold it like that or are supposed to. Mode is very bright and fits my needs perfectly. Even though it is not supposed to be that bright, it is still quite nice to have a spotlight that actually works. Very good Very bright and easy to use. My husband and I use it every night on our walk. It works great to light up the trees and gardens beyond. Very bright and easy to recharge. This thing shines clear back to the fence row we have.
FATMAX SL10LEDS from Stanley is also well suited for your emergency kit. It features a lithium ion battery and is fully charged with the warning light still on. The handle on the top is a wrist strap and it is great for carrying and for use around the house. I really like it so far and I charge it every month or so. The charge is still lengthy and there is still a little glimmer of light left when there is no battery in the charger. When the battery is drained the charge will reverse direction. So be patient and follow the instructions. I dropped this thing in a creek and it survived the shock! I am very impressed and I charge it every month with the charge coming and going with about a 15 minute charge. So it is good for 13 hours of normal use and then some quick charge in the car is good for another 7 hours plus. Just plug it in overnight and pull it in the morning , charge is good immediately and the rest is as it should be. I love this flashlight.
On top of being an excellent flashlight, you can also use the built-in Lithium Ion battery to charge your mobile devices via USB. Easy to use and very powerful. Perfect light for walking at night in the country. Amazing product! Bright and easy to use! Thanks A LOT Super bright light!!! Always carry enough cash to last a long time. I bought this to spot thieves and robbed banks. This thing will shine lights very far. Perfect for bank heists. This thing is super bright and easy to use. Have had it for about a month. Great use for when I drop my daughter off at school at night. Also great for taking the dog out on a blind date night. Awsome lite wish it woulda have had a green lens for it I received this beam today and charged it up. I use it to light up the night sky at the edge of my property to see what's out there.
You will get all the features you need from the FATMAX, and the features are well implemented. The drawback is that the trigger lock is not as powerful as you would like, and you will have to disable the light switch divider in order to reach the trigger switch. You will have to disable the switch divider in order to reach the trigger switch. BTW, I disabled the switch divider in my project, and it worked great. You will probably have to disable the switch divider in order to get the jet mode from the dimmer, and that would be a separate step you took off. One thing I did try was disabling the light switch divider, and it worked great while in the dimmer. I am going to disable the switch divider in my project as well, and it will also light up the project. I purchased this light because I live in East Texas country where there are feral hogs and coyotes. I don't like walking out in the darkness without a flashlight and this thing is awesome.
The three different lighting modes each fills a purpose, and the high-low settings do a good job of lighting up the whole scene. The only thing that stops me in my tracks is the battery life. I use the spotlight to check on my animals at night, and it lights up the back fence line. I've got a bunch of 'em now, and I use 'em a lot. I charge 'em all the time, and then I take 'em out at night and 'reset' them with the stand. The battery lasts for a long time, I'm quite happy with it. This is a great hand held spot light. Light wood and it is nice to hold. Light weight, easy to hold and shoot. I loved this hand held spotlight.
